He was reared in Maud and Seminole and was a longtime Pottawatomie County area resident, having lived in Shawnee for over 45 years. He was band director at Marlow High School for three years and Wewoka High School for six years, where he inspired his students by marching along with them, despite injuries received during his military service during World War II.

She enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the OU community as a freelance artist and she also loved to sing and played guitar. Marta was overjoyed to see her only daughter graduate from OU this past spring. She also loved the companionship of her beloved cat Henry. Marta's mind and body were long burdened by mental illness, but her spirit always found wonderful expression through her love of art and music, which brought her great happiness when she shared them with her friends and family.

As an advocate for improvement and growth of Seminole for more than the 54 years that he resided her, he was active in numerous civic and business organizations beginning with the initial investments of monies by many Seminole citizens and businesses to bring Blue Bell now Wrangler to Seminole when it located its first plant in the old Gulf Oil camp along Harvey Road.
He, along with several other Seminole citizens, were instrumental in the relocation of Enviro-Systems to Seminole and the completion of city utilities for development of what is now Seminole Estates. In addition, he was a longtime member of the Seminole Planning Commission. As one Seminole citizen described him, "he was a pusher for the good of Seminole. One of the biggest attainments in the mind of Bob Clausing was his induction as one of 12 original inductees in to the Seminole Hall of Fame.

The Curbs also held church fellowships and prayer meetings in their home. Curb was active in the Strothers Athletic Booster Club and in later years supported Varnum basketball except when playing Strother.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, family genealogy and loved to take pictures and videos. Curb contributed to several historical museums in Lincoln, Love and Oklahoma Counties. In addition to supporting Twin Oak Baptist Church, he also supported mission work. Curb hoped, upon finding out about his terminal cancer last September, to live long enough to celebrate his 80 th birthday. He was pleased that it was attended by 87 special people. Jack passed away Saturday morning at Seminole Medical Center after a lengthily illness. Jack joined the Civilian Conservation Comp when he was 19 years old. He worked a year driving heavy equipment building roads in Colorado.
They spent three months there, he then was sent to Lincoln, Neb. He left for overseas duty in September of that year. Jack spent time in England then was sent to Iceland where he spent the remainder of his time there. He was discharged in December of and returned to Seminole to meet his wife who was coming in from California where she had been working as a welder in the Kaiser shipyard.
Jack went to work soon after for Canadian Valley Electric. He worked there 32 years ending up with the title of Right a Way Coordinator, during that time he also did Electrical work at nights and week ends. He owned and operated the business until his death. He was a loving husband and father, always playing with grandchildren.
In two weeks he would have had his first great grandson, Jaxson. Zach and his wife Amanda will be the parents of Jaxson Davis to be born in two weeks. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lydia Long of Modesto, Calif.
